Why a Mini Piece Teaches You More Than a Large One

Small surfaces are honest. There is nowhere for a wobbly line to hide, no wide-open space to distract the eye. When you work a mini cheese board, every cell, every metallic edge, and every band of color sits right next to the one before it. That closeness is exactly why this size is such a good teacher: you learn to control the details rather than hope they work themselves out.
