Killer Websites on a Starter Budget

Updated: Oct 16, 2019

I have always been a DIY (do it yourself) kind of person. Shelling out my hard earned money time and time again for things I WISH I knew how to do, was very hard for me. One of the best things I did for myself as an entrepreneur was figure out the basics of putting together an impressive website with a not so impressive spending budget.

I’ve invested in websites such as Shopify (was great but every cool feature was a pricey add on service) and BigCartel (affordable, but customizing the store was limited unless you paid for decent looking themes). Basic Shopify Plans start at $29 per month, while Bigcartel starts you with a free account. Even though BigCratel started you off with a free account, it was inevitable that you’d pay the monthly service price because the free plan was TOO unprofessional looking. The secret to bypassing the expensive or mediocre basic eCommerce plans is Wix.

Discovering Wix was the best thing to happen to my business. I of course started out with a free account, just to get a feel of how the thing worked! It was easy! Drag and drop.... some uploading and typing... then BAM!!! A Website! It was really easy. Once I was done creating the shell of my site, I just kept upgrading it’s look as I learned more and more about the features Wix had available to me!

My favorite feature Wix has is that it allows you to use a majority of their features for free. And if you want to remove pesky things like watermarks from the feature, then you pay a small (seriously... VERY affordable) fee to have it removed. Wix has a large app store that allows the creative to customize their site beyond their wildest dreams! I now have a 32 page website with a eCommerce and digital download stores, light box popups, an email list, a members only section, booking calendar, and MUCH more and I only pay $13/mo!!!!

But don’t take my word for it! Give Wix a try today!
